About Me
My story
Picture this: a wide-eyed kid devouring the pages of the first Harry Potter book, utterly enchanted by the magic of storytelling. That was me.
As a child, nothing excited me more than Children's Book Week, when I’d eagerly hop from one teacher to another, soaking up every story being read.
Fast forward to university, and my friends quickly discovered my superpower: an uncanny ability to turn their essays from snooze-fests into eloquent arguments. In the corporate world, it was the same story. I can’t even begin to count how many requests I received to add a bit of editing magic to emails.
I decided to dive headfirst into the world of editing, training professionally and becoming a proud member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP). I'm passionate about helping authors bring out the best in their stories while keeping their unique voice at the heart of their work. Always on the lookout for new ways to learn and grow, I’m on an ongoing quest for editing excellence.
My Promise to You
When you work with me you're not just hiring an editor, you're gaining a cheerleader, a confidant, and a fellow bookworm all in one. I work collaboratively and respectfully, offering clear, practical feedback that guides and supports you without rewriting your story. I help you step back from your manuscript, see the bigger picture, and make confident, informed decisions during revision.
I bring a friendly, reader-focused perspective to your work, highlighting what's working well, where the narrative could be clearer, and how plot, pacing, and character arcs can be strengthened to make your story more engaging.
Whether you're revising a first draft or polishing a manuscript that has already been through multiple rounds of edits, I'm here to provide thoughtful insight, honest assessment, and encouragement every step of the way. Together we can make your story shine, and yes, there may even be a virtual high-five or two along the way!
